Friendship.

"And a youth said, Speak to us of Friendship.
And he answered, saying:
Your friend is your needs answered.
He is your field which you sow with love and reap with thanksgiving.
And he is your board and your fireside.
For you come to him with your hunger, and you seek him for peace.

When your friend speaks his mind you fear not the "nay" in your own mind, nor do you withhold the "ay."
And when he is silent your heart ceases not to listen to his heart;
For without words, in friendship, all thoughts, all desires, all expectations are born and shared, with joy that is unacclaimed.
When you part from your friend, you grieve not;
For that which you love most in him may be clearer in his absence, as the mountain to the climber is clearer from the plain.
And let there be no purpose in friendship save the deepening of the spirit.
For love that seeks aught but the disclosure of its own mystery is not love but a net cast forth: and only the unprofitable is caught.

And let your best be for your friend.
If he must know the ebb of you tide, let him know its flood also.
For what is your friend that you should seek him with hours to kill?
Seek him always with hours to live.
For it is his to fill your need, but not your emptiness.
And in the sweetness of friendship let there be laughter, and sharing of pleasures.
For in the dew of little things the heart finds its morning and is refreshed."

-from Kahlil Gibran's The Prophet.

If someone asked me to name one thing that I am thankful for, I would say,

Friends.

Friends taught me to see that God really does have unique plans for everyone for the building of His Kingdom and that God really touches people's hearts and works in their lives in sooo many wondrous ways..
How uniquely did He create each one of us!
How special we all are…

Friends who know me and accept me as I am; who understand me without words; who lend me their shoulders and ears so that I may share my cries and joy; who help me to find myself and who are a part of who I am; and who encourage me to endure and to press on. Friends who are there to walk this life with me.

I truly thank God for my friends.

My earnest prayer is that I may be the same for them, that I may be there for them also..

All are swimming,,

Some fish swimming in the icy creeks on the tall mountain,
Others in the infinite ocean.

Some fish larger than others,
Some fish faster than others,
Some fish more colourful than others.

Sometimes hiding from the birds in the sky and the scary fish with sharp teeth,
Sometimes struggling through the weeds, the fallen leaves and twigs in the water, Sometimes bumping into stones and rocks.

Sometimes we bump into other fish along the way,,

Some quickly passing by,
Others, we will swim with for the rest of our lives, side by side..

We all swim at our own pace, following our own path,
All towards something, we swim.

We are swimming in the water.

In the water, we swim.
In the water, we live.

We, like the fish and God, like the water...

Love,
-Kimmy.
